Home staging before and afters are so much fun, aren’t they? A while back, I got called in to stage and sell a West Island home, actually three homes – a triplex – in Lachine. This spot was just a walk from the Lachine canal and from the farmer’s market in an area full of students, young professionals, families and people who have lived there for several decades. In short, it’s an interesting, up-and-coming area with tons of potential.
To make this particular property look its best and sell to its potential, I needed to focus on the two bedrooms. For younger buyers in particular, getting that first mortgage can be tough, and often we need the help of a tenant or roommate to offset some of the costs. The two bedrooms in this unit were not showing as two full bedrooms, with one being used as a storage room and the other looking like a bed had simply been thrown into a room.
With West Island real estate buyers having so much to choose from these days, you really do need to put your best house forward. Here’s what we did in less than a day. And yes, it sold!
